The Ferrari 458. The Most Popular Ferrari Ever!?!?!

Hello, and welcome back to another Super Car review. Last Wednesday, we went in depth with the crazy Mercedes SLS. This Wednesday we have the Ferrari 458. One of the most seen modern Ferrari’s, and looks crazy good especially in Rosso Corsa red. From the aerodynamics, to the power and specs, this 458 is a crazy car to see. Now I have seen the 458 on many different occasions and even sat in it, but we can get to the pictures and videos a little bit later. Like usual, I would like to start out with some power and performance stats. First off, the engine is a 4.5 liter, naturally aspirated V8 that cranks out around 562 horsepower at 9,000 RPM. The V8 also creates about 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 RPM. Aerodynamics are a huge part of this car, knowing this is a rear-engine. The front vent below the ferrari logo helps the car with airflow to make as much downforce as possible. With everything on full attack mode, the 458 can make the 0-60 dash in just around 3 seconds, and can blast to 0-100 mph in just 6.7 seconds. The 458 can also speed through the quarter mile in a time of just around 11.9 seconds, traveling at 128 miles per hour. Cars this quick need to stop quickly for the safety of the car and the driver. Luckily, Ferrari made the 458 with carbon-ceramic brakes, helping this car stop from 60 to 0 miles per hour in just 99 feet. The 458 replaced the F340 (first review), and was officially revealed at the 2009 Franklin Motor Show. Through-out the 5 years of its production (2010-2015), there were estimated to be 13,000 to 15,000 458 models created. The 458 has a 7-speed manual transmission on the spider, and the Italia. For anybody who has seen the 458 driving, then you must have heard the crazy sound coming from the exhausts. It is so loud because of its tri-exhausts which pay tribute to the historic F40. Modern Ferrari’s mostly have a bypass valve which for noise regulations, and when the Ferrari travels at slow speeds, the bypass valve remains closed. When this happens, the full exhaust system is used, muffling the engine’s sound. On the 458, only the center pipe is used, and the other 2 are connected to the bypass valve. The racing version of the 458 only has 2 exhaust pipes because it has no need to meet noise regulations. The curb weight of the 458 is surprisingly low at 3,450 lbs. When the 458 was a new car, it would cost around 239,000 U.S. dollars and has dropped in price. It currently costs 130,000 dollars for a Ferrari 458 Italia, which isn’t bad at all for all of the power and luxury. Speaking about luxury, let's move on, to see how the 458 can be so luxurious with some specs and options you could choose. First of all, the classic Ferrari red also known as Rosso Corsa, fits the car, and looks incredible. Other factory exterior colors include Argento Nurburgring Metallic Silver, Avorio Yellow, Azzurro California Blue, Bianco Avus White, Blu Scozia Blue, Verde British Green, Rosso Dino Orange, Rosso Scuderia Red, Grigio Scuro Grey, and finally Giallo Modena Yellow. Lots of exterior colors can come with the 458. The factory interior colors are Beige with Leather (Alcantara), Blu Scuro Blue, Crema with Leather (White), Grigio Scuro (Grey), Rosso with leather (Red), and Iroko Brown with Leather. All of these choices make the 458 specialized for the buyer specifically. You could also add the Sport Performance Package for $12,595-$16,595 and it includes the 458 Italia Maxflo Performance Exhaust System with the option for 458 Italia Deluxe Dual Style Tips, 458 Italia Sport Headers, 458 Sport Catalytic Converters, 458 Italia BMC F1 Filter, and 458 Italia XperTune Performance Software. This package would totally change the sound and performance of your car and weighs a total of 40 extra pounds. Other accessories that you could add on is a Carbon Fiber Oil Cap Cover, 10mm Aluminum Alloy Wheel Spacers, Center Console F1 Trim Plate, Start Plate Center Console Control Plate, Rear Diffuser, Carbon Fiber Control Panel Cover, and Carbon Fiber Outer Door Handle Covers. All of these upgrades and color choices make this car so customizable and unique. Now we can move on to the times where I saw this car and the spec explanation. The first few pictures were from the same car. This 458 is Black with a tan interior which looks super good through the window. I don't see any upgraded parts on this 458, but if you can spot any, let me know by commenting on this video. The next pictures are of a red 458 that I spotted at a local meet. This one was the classic Rosso Corsa red with tan interior. The owner was kind enough to let me sit in it, and by that, I got a better feel of the cabin space and a closer look at the gorgeous tan interior. when I was inside the red 458, I noticed that some trim pieces were carbon fiber such as part of the dash, AC vents, and on the steering wheel. The yellow details on the speed gauge and the calipers and the red stitching on the wheel, fit this car perfectly. Below the pictures, I also uploaded some of my videos of my 458 spots. That concludes the pictures and videos. I hope that you liked this review and you learned something new about the 458. One of my favorite Ferrari's ever made, and the only Ferrari I have sat it. I hope that these 2 458's stay in the area where they get exposed for people to see. I also hope that this car drops in appreciation enough that I could buy one for myself. That wraps up this week's Super Car review, and we will see you next Wednesday with a brand new review. (And let me tell ya, its gonna be a good one!!!)
